Scholarship Description

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is the state’s only public liberal arts college. With the highest admissions standards in the State, USAO is a public college with the mission to provide any bright and talented Oklahoma student affordable access to the type of high quality education found almost exclusively at elite, expensive institutions. Its central educational purpose is based on a business plan to develop critically needed talent to serve both the needs of Oklahoma’s workforce and the requirements of responsible citizenship.

Amount of Scholarship Award $500.00

Purpose and Application of Funds

The scholarship is for a first time student interested in fine art as a major, but hesitant about attending art school. This scholarship award can be utilized to pay for the cost of tuition, art supplies, room and board, meals, transportation, or used at his/her discretion.

Eligibility Guidelines

1. Must be an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.

2. Must submit a portfolio or examples of at least three pieces of work.

3. Must have an understanding of art for art’s sake.

4. Must be a first time entering student.

5. Must demonstrate financial want.

6. Must attend the University of Sciences and Arts of Oklahoma.

7. Must agree to authorize the Scholarship Foundation Program to publicize the scholarship award if selected.
